Harford Community College host first full ArtsFest since pandemic

Jan. 12—Harford Community College's ArtsFest is hosting its annual Sunday afternoon of music and art on Feb. 5 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at HCC. This is the college's first full ArtsFest since 2020, said Susan Fletcher, HCC spokesperson.

The event is featuring performances of music and more by HCC faculty in the Chesapeake Theater. There will be an annual art and design exhibition of drawings, paintings, sculpture, photographs, digital art and ceramics by faculty and staff in the Chesapeake Gallery, where there will also be a reception with the "After Hours" faculty jazz band featuring jazz, drinks and treats.

Tickets are $1 for youth and $15 for adults. Purchase tickets at www.harfordevents.com, visit the HCC ticket office in the Chesapeake Center or call 443-412-2211.

Harford Community College held Winter Doldrums every year since the early 1990s until it was renamed HCC ArtsFest in 2020, the last time the event took place in its entirety, Fletcher said.

The art and design faculty and staff exhibition continued through the pandemic as a fully online exhibition in 2021 and returned as a live exhibition which was available online as well in 2022, Fletcher said.
