If you’re looking for a unique and memorable New Year’s Eve experience, it may be hard to top an evening with Grateful Dead icon Bob Weir at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale.

The touring ensemble known as Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros featuring The Wolfpack will set up for a three-night residency at the Broward Center from Dec. 29 to Dec. 31.

Tickets for the concerts will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at BrowardCenter.org.

A brilliant rhythm guitarist with a wide and passionate following, Weir has never seemed more in demand in his post-Dead career.

In July, the Grateful Dead spin-off band Dead & Company (including Weir, Dead drummer Mickey Hart and singer-guitarist John Mayer) concluded their final tour, which drew more than 840,000 fans, a record for the band, according to Billboard.

In 2018, Weir created another popular setting for exploration of the Dead catalog and his own solo material with Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros. The band includes Grammy-winning producer and bassist Don Was, Dead & Company drummer Jay Lane and keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, and guitarist Barry Sless, who also did time in Phil Lesh & Friends.

The Wolfpack is a strings-and-brass quintet that adds an orchestral element to the music of the Grateful Dead. The ensemble includes Grammy-winning violinist Mads Tolling, cellist Alex Kelly, trumpeter Brian Switzer, trombonist Adam Theis and saxophonist-clarinetist Sheldon Brown.

Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros featuring The Wolfpack will perform on Saturday at Farm Aid 2023 in Noblesville, Ind., and shows next week in Columbus, Ohio, and Philadelphia are both sellouts.
