Local artist to show animal-centric illustrations

What began as an online experiment morphed into a daily practice for Rebecca Burdock, who carves out studio time every day to create art from an online prompt, with the expectation of building a collection of 100 pieces. The fruits of her labor so far can be seen in her new exhibit, "Daily Creating," opening Thursday at Kittie’s Highline Art Space, 693 High St., Worthington, where it will run through Dec. 31. Burdock, whose work has been shown in several central Ohio locations, also has spoken in numerous schools, sharing her experience illustrating her first children's book, "Sunny the Firefly," with nearly 1,000 students. Kittie's Highline, which serves locally roasted coffee, as well as teas, hot chocolate, smoothies and baked goods, is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (rebeccaink.com/highlinecoffeeartspace)

Tickets are $20 general admission, $18 for 60 and older, and $12 for students. (bit.ly/HACDinner)
