Happy National Ampersand Day: The Best Movies With ‘&’ in the Title

Happy National Ampersand Day! Can you believe we finally got here? The ampersand is a logogram that represents the word “and.” So how does this pertain to movies? Well, buster, a lot of movie titles make great use of the ampersand. Here are some of the best films with one in the title.

10. Lilo & Stitch

This Disney classic is set in Hawaii, but to me, there is no better setting than the one between the names Lilo and Stitch.

9. Love & Friendship

Its title really captures the spirit of this holiday, for what is National Ampersand Day about anyway? Love & Friendship. And ampersands.

8. Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

Of all the magnificent curiosities in this film, the most appealing has got to be that ampersand, baby.

7. Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde

This 2003 sequel basically made the first one seem like garbage.

6. Batman & Robin

Beware, villains — the mightiest of superhero teams is coming to get you: the Dark Knight, Boy Wonder, and the ligature of the Latin word “et.”

5. McCabe & Mrs. Miller

It’s a Western. I don’t know. I’m starting to run out of steam. Pull it together, man. I’m good.

4. Fast & Furious

This the fourth movie in the franchise and is credited with helping set the course for its sequels’ great success. All the credit goes to that ampersand.

3. Fast & Furious 6

Can you believe they abandoned the ampersand in the fifth one? What gives?

1. (tie) Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll and Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice

In a tie for No. 1, two classics that make use of the ampersand like nobody else: Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll and Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice. Look at all those. I’m … speechless.
