Happy Gilmore 2 officially announced by Netflix

GHENT, WV (WVNS) — The price is most definitely right, especially for Happy.

Sandlerverse fans can rejoice as ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ was officially announced during the 2024 Netflix Upfront event.

Sports takes center court at 2024 Netflix Upfront

During the Netflix Upfront event, multiple new games, movies, and series’ were announced to come out through 2024 and 2025. Adam Sandler will indeed reprise one of his most famous roles as Happy Gilmore. For now, it is still unknown when the movie will be released or who will be starring alongside Sandler.

In the 1996 golf comedy, Happy Gilmore, who is played by Sandler, decides to give golf a try after a hockey career went sideways and Grandma Gilmore’s house gets repossessed for not paying her taxes. Happy begins to fly up leaderboards with the help of his coach Chubbs Peterson until Tour Champion Shooter McGavin, played by Christopher McDonald, and him match up for the Gold Jacket.

Chubbs was played by Carl Weathers, who also acted as Apollo Creed in the Rocky movies. Weathers passed away on February 1, 2024.

In March 2024, Christopher McDonald leaked the possibility of the cult-classic getting a sequel, saying Adam Sandler had already shown him the written script. Such leaks can now be put to rest.

So, make sure to meet at the ninth green at nine to see Happy Gilmore 2.
