Gomez Had a Panic Attack
A source says that singer Selena Gomez had a panic attack before she took the stage at the American Music Awards at Microsoft Theater on Sunday night. It was Gomez' first live televised performance in about two years.
According to a source: "Selena definitely had anxiety and a panic attack before she went out and was putting a lot of pressure on herself."
She Was Clearly Emotional
Fans noticed that Gomez was very emotional while performing, leading some to speculate whether she really did have a panic attack.
Imagine Doing What She Does

Gomez sent a thank-you to her fans after the show, paired with photos of her on the red carpet.
"Feels good to be back. Thank you to my entire team and to my fans that stand by me. All of this is for you and because of you. excited for this chapter #sg2 @amas."
She told Ryan Seacrest in October that her fans have been with her through her entire journey.
"They've stood by me for years and years and they've walked with me through everything I've gone through. I just wanted to let them know I was good."
Since she's stayed away from the stage and much of the public eye for so long, it's natural for some doubts and fears to bubble up before a live performance.
Gomez Spoke With Seacrest
Gomez also spoke with Seacrest about her newest singles, "Lose You To Love Me" and "Look At Her Now."
The singer says she has been feeling "relief" since working on her latest album, four years in the making.
"More than anything I think I feel a sense of relief. It's been four years since I've been working on this album. It's actually perfect timing because I was going to release it two years ago and none of the words that I'm speaking would have existed.
So taking a moment to actually feel the feelings that I've gone through it's just, I don't know, I'm just so grateful that it's out."
Talking Breakups and Moving On
She told Seacrest how "Lose You To Love Me" is a sort of continuation of her song "Heart Wants What It Wants."
"I released a song 'Heart Wants What It Wants' ages ago... I felt like within going from there to go where I am now, it's like the greatest feeling, so it made sense."
Behind what I'm saying in 'Lose You to Love Me' it is very black and white, there's no in between. That's it. And for 'Look at Her Now,' that's just my life exploding into all these amazing things."
