What happened on 'Big Brother' last night? New HOH leads to awkward moment on live TV

The first live Head of Household competition of the season made for an epic moment during "Big Brother" Thursday.

The houseguests blindsided Red Utley, whom they evicted with an 8-2 vote, as well as Cameron Hardin and Bowie Jane, the only two people to vote against the other nominee, Jag Bains.

The show then hosted its first live HOH competition this season. Here's what happened.

What happened on 'Big Brother' last night?

The houseguests played in a memory comp Thursday, in which they had to remember sequences of colors shown in multiple videos (the theme was ridiculous, so let's not even mention it). In the end, Cameron Hardin, who seemed visibly upset with his fellow houseguests for blindsiding him with the Red Utley vote, won Head of Household.

Hardin, alongside Utley, was initially a nominee this past week. However, his Power of Veto win kept him safe, so the previous HOH, Jared Fields, put up Jag Bains as a replacement nominee. Considering Hardin was at one point a target for much of the house, his HOH win Thursday led to little celebration from his castmates and an awkward live TV moment, with no one looking happy for him.

The win was Hardin's second HOH win after the Pressure Cooker competition two weeks ago. Matt Klotz's Power of Invincibility, though, completely erased his week.
