HanuMan filmmaker Prasanth Varma is currently basking in the success of his latest movie. The director has given India another fictional superhero in the form of Teja Sajja. While the director is enjoying the massive acclaim he has been receiving with the movie, he is also opening up about his career.

Varma has revealed that he has passed many hurdles in his professional life. He also mentioned that he wasted a lot of time waiting for a reply from big stars. However, he claims that he did not name names and requests that netizens not spread fake news.

Why did Prasanth Varma ask netizens to stop spreading fake news?

During an interview with Siddharth Kannan, HanuMan director Prasanth Varma was asked if he had considered working with stars of the industry. In his reply, the director said, “I’m not against working with stars. Usually with stars, it takes time. I spent a lot of time waiting for a couple of stars. I wasted a lot of my time. So after that, I’ve decided, okay, let’s just have a deadline. So after this deadline, even if Tom Cruise comes to me, I should just go ahead with whoever I have. I didn’t come into the industry to work with stars.”

During the same interview, he allegedly revealed that he had approached several stars from the Telugu industry previously. These stars included Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and Jr. NTR. As a result, fans are furious at Prasanth Varma and criticizing him for his statement. However, recently, the director issued a statement claiming that he did not take the names of any of the stars in the interview.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the HanuMan filmmaker wrote, “Nicely articulated but FYI, I did’t mention any name of our beloved stars, I respect them very much and know them very personally, I would love to do a film with them any time if right script comes!! PLEASE I KINDLY REQUEST to STOP spreading fake rumors :))) Thank you.”

HanuMan came out on January 12 and soon received praise from the audience. The film is so far, one of the most successful Indian movies of 2024.
