HanuMan Box Office: Teja Sajja’s Superhero Flick Breaks RRR Record

Telugu actor Teja Sajja recently played a new Indian superhero, HanuMan, in his latest flick. The movie received mostly positive reviews from the audience, and his performance is being lauded widely. While the movie is facing tough competition from other flicks that are released around Sankranti, it is not backing down from garnering millions. So far, the film has surpassed a record set by SS Rajamouli’s RRR in North America.

HanuMan is a blend of mythology and fantasy with the right amount of drama and action. The film follows the story of a young man who gains the powers of Lord Hanuman. He uses his superpowers to save his village, Anjanadri, and bring down the evil Michael. His stint to stop Michael from obtaining a precious stone is what builds the plot of the film.

Which record did HanuMan break?

As per a report by 123telugu.com, HanuMan has been performing well in the overseas market. The film has already beaten its competitor, Guntur Kaaram, at the USA box office. Now, it has surpassed previous Telugu blockbusters RRR, Baahubali, and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The portal reported that the Teja Sajja-starrer earned $525K gross on its first Monday in North America. Therefore, its Monday collection surpassed that of Rajamouli’s Baahubali, RRR, and Allu Arjun-starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.

Within four days of its release, the mythological fantasy film has allegedly crossed the $3 million milestone in the USA. This has also boosted the screen occupancy of the film in North America. Therefore, the official numbers of the movie are expected to go higher in a few days.

HanuMan saw Amritha Aiyer play the leading lady opposite Teja Sajja. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Vinay Rai, Samuthirakani, Vennela Kishore, and others have portrayed key roles. Prasanth Varma has helmed the film, while K Niranjan Reddy has produced it under PrimeShow Entertainment.
