Hannah Brown writes novel

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WRKN) — You know her for her stint on “The Bachelorette,” now Nashville local Hannah Brown is a novelist. Although this is her second book, this is her first venture into fiction. Her new book, “Mistakes We Never Made,” is a fun, fast and epic rom-com, according to the New York Times. Writing this book has been a dream of hers and she sat down with News 2’s Nikki Burdine to talk about her work and what inspired her.

“It has been amazing. I just feel so grateful for the support that I’ve had, but also just people coming up to me and who’ve already read it and who have loved it, and they want to know more. They’re like, what are you going to do next?” she said.

Hannah also revealed that she is already starting on book two. “There are hopefully some characters in this book that people want to know more about. And it is a standalone book, but I want to be still in the same world of these (characters’) friendship and people.”

Hannah said the support and accolades have been overwhelmingly positive. She’s recently been added to the New York Times Best Seller’s list. “It’s been cool to have somebody love already what you put out there and want more. I am in my author era, and I’m loving it!”

The book is a romantic comedy, and as Hannah puts it, the perfect summer read. “The idea that I had was actually surrounding the four best friends, there’s a core four group of best friends and for me, I think there’s all different types of love in your life. But I think one of the best love stories in real life can be with your female friendships. And so this is a romance novel, but I love the idea of how as women we support each other in those romantic relationships and how we’re inter woven into each other’s lives, our romantic lives. And so that was like the first concept and idea and also it was a way for me to have this core for group to be different parts of myself.”

Hannah had a special book signing in Nashville this week, but if you missed it you can still purchase the book anywhere books are sold, including at local Nashville bookstores.
