More from Rolling Stone

In June, Haney became the first undisputed lightweight champion in the four-belt era when he beat George Kambosos Jr. via unanimous decision. The undefeated 24-year-old then successfully defended his title in a rematch with Kambosos in October, extending his undefeated record to 29-0.

When is the Haney vs. Lomachenko Fight? Date, Time

The Haney vs. Lomachenko fight is happening on Saturday, May 20 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Haney vs. Lomachenko main card is scheduled to start at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT, with the undercard fights starting at 8 p.m. ET and early prelims at 6 p.m. ET.

Haney vs. Lomachenko Odds, Fight Card

Unsurprisingly, the champ is the favorite to win tonight. As of writing, oddsmakers are giving Haney a moneyline of -280 against Lomachenko’s +230.

Haney is currently ranked as the world’s best active lightweight boxer (ESPN), and few have any issue with that positioning. After his professional debut at just 17 years old, Haney quickly become the youngest world champion in 2019 at 21 years old. He’s racked up 29 wins — 15 by way of knockout — with zero losses, and now he hopes to retain his undisputed laurels for as long as possible.

But, if anyone has a shot at taking Haney’s belts, it’s Lomachenko. The 35-year-old is currently ranked as the second-best lightweight by ESPN, boasts an impressive record of 17-2 with 11 knockouts, and holds two Olympic gold medals. However, perhaps more impressive than his pro career is Lomachenko’s amateur record, which clocks in at 396-1. His sole loss was to Albert Selimov, which Lomachenko avenged twice.

“It’s more pressure for Haney, not me,” Lomachenko told Top Rank. “I already lose, I’m underdog, I’m old boxer.”

Will Lomachenko’s skill be enough for Haney’s youth, speed, and size? We’ll see, but before the two go head-to-head, we’ll get several exciting bouts on the same card. Here’s the full fight card for Haney vs. Lomachenko:
