Hamburger America celebrity chef to appear at Port Orange brewery's Books & Brews
George Motz, award-winning chef, author, filmmaker, photographer and restaurateur will join Dune’s Brewing in Port Orange for a special Leap Day meet-and-greet from 4 – 9 p.m. Feb. 29. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and take photos with the chef, indulge in two burgers prepared live by Motz himself, and receive a signed copy of his cookbook, "The Great American Burger Book."
Dune’s Brewing will host Motz at the 4,000-square-foot taproom, a serene space known for its range of wines, seltzers and rotating beers brewed in house, inviting customers to "drink up the coastal lifestyle." The ticketed event, priced at $75 per person, is the first of the brewery’s “Books & Brews” — a monthly book-signing series.

“George Motz has personally defined what it means to have a good American cheeseburger,” Michael Benedict, Dunes Brewing co-owner, said in a release.
“With this event, we look forward to bringing a once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience to our hometown and we are honored to be hosting an icon and cooking legend at our venue. This is going to be a great opportunity for anyone who appreciates a good burger, great beer and face-to-face time with the king of burgers himself!”
Motz is an Emmy-award winning and James Beard-nominated wearer of many hats, to say the least. The seasoned chef and “burger legend,” as described by Eater LA, recently opened a restaurant — Hamburger America — in Manhattan's Soho neighborhood, and has received national recognition from publications including The New York Times, The New Yorker and Eater LA, as well as from celebrity chef and restaurateur Bobby Flay.
Motz has made several television appearances, most notably on the "Today" show and "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" and starred in the Travel Channel’s "Burger Land" — a 2012, Motz-produced taste-testing reality series in which the accomplished chef tours the nation’s most beloved burger joints.
