‘Halt and Catch Fire’ Season 3 Preview: Cameron and Donna Celebrate Their New Silicon Valley Success

Mutiny founders Cameron (Mackenzie Davis) and Donna (Kerry Bishé) are gonna party like it’s 1986 — because it is — in the Aug. 23 third-season premiere of AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire.

In the preview clip above, the Mutiny partners have set up shop in their new Silicon Valley headquarters, and a celebration is in order because the company has just hit 100,000 users.

Not that everything in their lives is running smoothly, of course. Donna makes a point of publicly thanking husband Gordon (Scoot McNairy) for helping Mutiny get to where it is, but as the couple deals with his serious health issues and the lingering effects of his extramarital affair, Gordon will struggle to see how exactly he fits into Mutiny’s big-picture plans.

Joe (Lee Pace) is also building his own empire, which brings him back into the lives of his former cohorts — including ex-lover Cameron. Meanwhile, new faces joining in the group’s quest for tech-world domination include Annabeth Gish as venture capitalist Diane Gould, 90210 alum Manish Dayal as ambitious new programmer Ryan Ray, and Matthew Lillard as Ken Diebold, an experienced investor who may factor into the fortunes of Joe and Mutiny.

Halt and Catch Fire Season 3 premieres Aug. 23 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
