Halloween: Witch’s Brew, Vampini among scary offerings from these Palm Beach restaurants
It’s a golden rule 364 days a year, but the dress code at Le Bilboquet —“dress to impress, please” — is revoked when the French bistro hosts its annual Halloween party, which this year is Saturday.
Guests and staff will let their proverbial hair down as they don costumes and seize “the joie de vivre that is at the core of Le Bilboquet and even more prominent for Halloween,” managing partner Dobi Trendafilova told the Daily News.
Le Bilboquet’s Halloween party is among others at island restaurants, including a Saturday affair at HMF — guests are invited to “eat, drink and be scary” — and an Oct. 31 “Devils & Divas” fête at Café L’Europe.
Festivities on Saturday at Le Bilboquet are from 5:30 p.m. to closing.
The 1950s is the theme, which follows last year’s “Denim & Diamonds” theme and the Roaring Twenties the year before.
The staff will be dressed in 1950s garb — think poodle skirts and bobby socks — while guests can wear any costume they’d like.
The “best” costume award is dinner for two at Le Bilboquet, which is in Worth Avenue’s Via Encantada.
Along with music and dancing, the French bistro will offer daily dinner specials, plus its regular menu with such favorites as Cajun chicken.
A 'haunted' HMF on Saturday night
A “haunted soiree” is on tap Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight at HMF, 1 S. County Road.
The Breakers’ Design Studio is set to decorate HMF’s vast space with, among other things, hand-carved pumpkins, moody lighting, smoky crystal votives, and projected silhouettes of bats and other creepy creatures.
For dancing and grooving, resident D.J. Kirill Basov will play a mash-up of classic and contemporary tunes.
Along with specialty cocktails — among them, The Transfusion and Witch’s Brew — a special menu with items priced from $34 to $40 will offer such fare as Black Lagoon Seabass Ceviche and Monster Lobster Roll.
See Café L’Europe 'eccentric' costumes
Meanwhile, starting at 5 p.m. on Oct. 31 at Café L’Europe, “all the devils and divas will come out to play in their eccentric costumes and personas,” co-owner Emanuela Marcello told the Daily News
Along with a D.J. for dancing and a costume contest yielding Pommery Champagne prizes, Café L’Europe, 331 S. County Road, will feature a special three-course menu ($165 a person, which includes a glass of Pommery Champagne).
Among the entrée selections: halibut with pumpkin risotto and asparagus; filet mignon with sweet potato and mushroom fricassee; and roasted rosemary chicken with seasonal vegetables.
For guests arriving at Café L’Europe after 9 p.m. on Halloween, a $60 cover charge applies.
Throughout the evening, cocktails with spooky-sounding names will be offered: Vampini, anyone?
