John Carpenter’s Halloween is on every horror fan’s must-watch list come October – but it almost wasn’t a Halloween movie at all! The defining film of the slasher genre was originally titled The Babysitter Murdersand took place over three days, rather than a single terrifying night.The Yahoo Movie Show explores this and other little-known trivia about the 1978 horror classic in our latest video, “Halloween: What Could Have Been.”  As it turns out, a lot of things about Halloween changed over the course of production, including Michael Myers’ iconic, featureless mask, which was originally meant to be a sad clown face. Jamie Lee Curtis, who made her film debut in Halloween, was almost passed over – until Carpenter found out that she had horror cinema in her blood. A then-unknown Dennis Quaid turned down a role, as did scary-movie veteran Christopher Lee. And those unmistakable opening credits, with the ominous jack o’ lantern?
