Halloween Horror Nights discounts for Florida residents, groups and early birds

Halloween festivities are ramping up here in Florida, and Universal Orlando Resort's Halloween Horror Nights are no exception.

After opening Sept. 1, this year is the longest-ever run for the popular haunted house attraction in Central Florida. Five intellectual property houses will bring spooky characters to life with five more original creative houses that distinguish Orlando from Universal Studio Hollywood's HHN events. That means you can get the chills at the "Chucky" or "Last of Us" haunted houses and also survive a jump scare at the Yeti: Campground Kills-themed house.

Halloween Horror Nights is open Wednesdays through Sundays until Nov. 4, and on Halloween night. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the park could stay open as late as 2:00 a.m.

Tickets start at $79.99, but here are some ways you can save:

How to get a discount at Halloween Horror Nights

The popular evening event is separately ticketed. Getting a break on price can be hard to come by. That said, prices are lower online than at the gate.

Universal Orlando Resort also offers a number of package deals for hotel accommodations, park passes and tickets to HHN.

Discounts are available for groups of 20 or more people, but reservations are required.

Does Halloween Horror Nights have a discount for Florida residents?

Florida residents will only see a cut if willing to stay at Universal hotels and buy a 2-Park or 3-Park ticket as part of the package.

Florida residents get a steeper discount on the Stay, Scream and Save package the longer they stay. Savings start at $10 off for a two-night stay and go up to $200 off for a week-long stay.

Do Halloween Horror Nights tickets get more expensive?

Yes, tickets get more expensive on average as Halloween draws closer.

But, even in late October, mid-week tickets are less expensive than weekend tickets.

Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday tickets run from $79.99 to $89.99. Friday and Saturday tickets run from $92.99 to $124.99. Halloween night is $89.99.
