Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Set To Begin Production on ‘Groundswell’ From Food Network Star Katie Lee Biegel

EXCLUSIVE: Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is set to begin production on a movie adaptation of Katie Lee Biegel’s bestselling debut novel Groundswell. Beigel, a popular Food Network host, will serve as executive producer on the project and will make a cameo appearance.

The movie is set to premiere on the network later this year.

Groundswell follows an Atlanta chef named Emma who, on the heels of a personal and professional setback, travels to Hawaii where she meets a reclusive surf instructor named Ben whose lessons help her to regain her footing.

Biegel is co-host of Food Network’s The Kitchen. She can be seen regularly on the network’s Best. Ever. and Beat Bobby Flay, and as a judge for the Halloween Baking Championship series. She hosted three seasons of Cooking Channel’s Beach Bites with Katie Lee and has two web series for FoodNetwork.com — Katie Lee Eats Meat, In Sweats and What Would Katie Eat?

She also regularly appears on Rachael Ray and Today.

Biegel has written four cookbooks, including It’s Not Complicated that was released in March 2021. She published her first novel, Groundswell, in 2011.
