Halle Berry Shared a Rare Peek at Son Maceo & Her 'Little Dude' Is the Coolest Birthday Kid Ever

It was a pretty big day in Halle Berry’s house: her youngest child, son Maceo, turned another year older! The Oscar-winning actress took to Instagram yesterday and shared a rare photo of her son on his 8th birthday. It’s only on special occasions that Berry shares photos on social media of either of her kids. But yesterday was obviously important enough that Berry wanted to celebrate with all of her fans and Instagram followers.
In the snapshot, Berry’s newly-minuted 8-year-old wore a pair of camouflage shorts, a brown jacket, and hat — which tactically covered his eyes. Fans couldn’t get over how much Maceo looked like his famous mom (well, based on what they could see of him, at least), and left a string of compliments in the comment section. As for Berry? She was just happy to celebrate her “little dude.”

“This little dude is 8 today,” Berry began the caption to her post. “Happy Birthday THUNDER!” Based off the photo, it looked like Berry had an awesome day with her youngest, whom she shares with ex-husband Olivier Martinez. Berry is also mom to 13-year-old Nahla, her daughter with former partner Gabriel Aubry.

Part of the reason why seeing glimpses of Berry’s kids is such a big deal is because she’s clearly prioritizing their privacy. Back in 2013, Berry addressed California legislators and shared the invasive tactics paparazzi use to try and snap photos of children of celebrity parents. “We’re moms here who are just trying to protect our children,” Berry said.
“These are little innocent children who didn’t ask to be celebrities. They didn’t ask to be thrown into this game, and they don’t have the wherewithal to process what’s happening. We don’t have a law in place to protect them from this.” Since then, Berry has seldom shared photos of her two kids on social media. But when she does, it’s really special to see.
