Halle Berry Finalizes Divorce From Olivier Martinez

After nearly eight years, Halle Berry finalized her divorce from Olivier Martinez. According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, the former couple will share legal custody of their son — Maceo, 9. Berry agreed to pay Martinez $8,000 monthly in child support. She will also pay her ex-husband an additional support of “4.3% of any income she receives above $2,000,000.”

The “John Wick: Chapter 3” actress will handle all costs for their son’s private school tuition, uniforms, school supplies, and any extracurricular activities moving forward. She will reimburse Martinez for any of those listed costs from the 2023/2024 school year.

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez’s Relationship

Berry and Martinez were married for two years before splitting in 2015. They released a statement with PEOPLE about their separation at the time.

“It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce,” they said in a joint statement. “We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son. We wish each other nothing but happiness in life and we hope that you respect our and, most importantly, our children’s privacy as we go through this difficult period.”

In December 2016, a judge ruled both were legally single, but they continued negotiating over child custody and support despite having a prenup.

Berry also has another daughter – Nahla Ariela, 15 – whom she shared with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. She and Aubry split in 2010.

Halle Berry Has Found Love

Berry is currently in a relationship with Van Hunt. In 2021, she opened up to Women’s Health about their relationship.

“I just feel fulfilled. I feel happy in my life romantically, as a mother, as an artist,” she said. “I’m a much better mother in this circumstance than I would have been had I stayed in a romantic relationship that didn’t serve me and didn’t make me feel the way I need to feel as a woman.”

“I’m reminded that we always have to take care of ourselves first because I can’t be a good mother for my children if I’m not fundamentally happy and feeling good about myself,” she added.
