“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son,” Halle shared with her social media followers at the time. “Welcome to the world, my Halo. The world is desperate to know you."

After receiving backlash for keeping the birth of her son a "secret," the actress clapped back, telling the world that it was her choice and that she was not obligated to share the news if she didn't want to.

“What was one of the biggest highlights of my life, and to be real, one of the biggest challenges, too, cannot compare to the biggest joy of my life, and that was becoming a mom to my perfect little angel, Halo,” she said during her acceptance speech at the 2024 Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards.

“There was no way in hell I was going to share the biggest joy of my world with anyone,” she added. “Halo was my gift. He is the greatest blessing, and I had no obligation to expose him, me, or my family to that unyielding spotlight.”

A few weeks ago, Halle Bailey revealed she is struggling with postpartum depression.

"I just wanted to speak a little bit about my postpartum journey as a new mom," the actress said in a video on her social media. "I have severe, severe postpartum [depression], and I don't know if any new moms can relate, but it's to the point where it's really bad, and it's hard for me to be separated from my baby for more than 30 minutes at a time before I start to kind of freak out."

According to the Mayo Clinic, most new moms experience postpartum "baby blues" after childbirth, which commonly include mood swings, crying spells, anxiety, and difficulty sleeping. It usually begins within the first two to three days after delivery and may last for up to two weeks.
