Halle Bailey’s Personal Decisions Shouldn’t Be a Greenlight for Pregnancy Rumors

It’s 2023 and people still out here speculating about pregnancies that are none of our business. During her recent appearance for the 2023 MTV VMAs, fans started to speculate that The Little Mermaid superstar Halle Bailey is pregnant.

These rumors came to be for a few reasons. For instance, Bailey wore a flowing orange gown and gold accent jewelry for the awards ceremony, with many fans convinced she was hiding a baby bump. Speculation was fueled further when insiders alleged to Page Six that she avoided the pink carpet to not get photos taken of her alleged bump.

Now, if she is pregnant, it’s up to her when and if she wants to tell her fans about it. We’ve seen celebrities being pressured to admit pregnancies before they were ready (like when Ellen Degeneres outed Mariah Carey’s pregnancy back in 2008), and when that happens, it leads to way more stress for the mom-to-be. (Which none of us want!)

Her decisions made with her fashion and what she does on the red carpet are up to her confidence and health, and shouldn’t be a green light for speculation on a possible pregnancy or weight changes.

So many celebrities have had to unnecessarily shut down pregnancy rumors, giving details about their weight changes, different style choices, and more; all things that didn’t need a press release to be made.

This speculation has led users on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to attack her for her relationship with DDG, and her life choices. However, just as many fans have come to her side, saying: “She’s a celebrity. IF she is pregnant, it’s not safe to tell until you are at least three months so to announce to the world prematurely is dangerous and would cause her more stress. And if she isn’t, this is just disrespectful, let it go! #HalleBailey.”
