After years of getting mixed up thanks to the similarity of their names, Halle Bailey and Halle Berry have finally given the world the picture it’s been waiting on. On Monday (Feb. 26), Academy Award-winning actress and director Halle Berry shared pictures of herself and Bailey at the star-studded LA Galaxy vs. Inter Miami season opener Sunday (Feb. 25) on Instagram and X.

Bailey, who is currently wrapping up the promotional run for The Color Purple, one of her two 2023 award-winning movie musicals, took a break from her date night with YouTuber-rapper boyfriend DDG to snap a few photos with the Monster’s Ball actress. The occasion soon morphed into an impromptu double date after Berry and her long-term boyfriend, Van Hunt, joined the young couple — and new parents! — in their suite. Berry wore a snuggly tan sweater, while Bailey donned a white LA Galaxy jersey. On X, Berry posted the picture with a quippy caption that read “HB2,” to which Bailey replied, “the best time !! ♥️♥️✨”

A complete trio of pictures was posted to both their Instagram accounts on the same day. That carousel featured pictures of the two actresses hugging each other and posing cheek-to-cheek. “When two Halles link up 🤍 truly adore you @hallebailey,” captioned Berry. In the comment section, Bailey added, “I was living for this moment!! thank you for being so kind to me you’ve made my life 😭💕💕🥰.” The “Angel” singer also shared a few outtakes to her Instagram Story, captioning one pic, “Can u tell I’m freaking out??”

In addition to the two Halles, the LA Galaxy vs. Inter Miami season opener featured celebrity guests such as Anderson .Paak, Edward Norton, Novak Djokovic and, of course, Lionel Messi, who led Inter Miami to a 1-1 draw.
