Halle Bailey & DDG Are Being Shamed for Sharing Their Son’s First Word & The Internet Needs to Chill

Halle Bailey and DDG’s baby Halo reached a major new milestone: he is talking! The baby, who was born in Dec. 2023, was caught in a cute video saying one of his first words, but it made internet trolls so mad.

DDG (born Darryl Dwayne “DDG” Grandberry Jr.) retweeted a video of himself and baby Halo on Twitter earlier this week. Someone shared the video writing, “DDG catches his son’s first words on camera with Halle 😭.” DDG wrote over the video, “when it’s a money play on the line he gon respond every time 😂❤️.”

In the cute clip, Halo wears an orange knitted hat and purple jacket as DDG holds him in the car. “When you get there, and everybody wanna say hi to you, you gotta make sure you be nice to the director and the producer so you can get some minutes too, OK?” he coaches his baby before he joins his mom for a meeting. He’s holding Halo in his arms, and The Little Mermaid star, who is filming, laughs behind camera.

“OK!” the baby responded, clear as day, making Bailey gasp in shock.

“He said ‘OK!’” DDG says, as they both start laughing in shock. That is too cute!

However, some people were mad because DDG hid his baby’s face from the camera. “If you have to keep rotating the babies torso to hide their face, just stay off of the damn internet,” one person wrote. DDG responded by telling this troll to “mind yo bizness.”

Someone else tweeted, “If it was really about the baby’s privacy they wouldn’t be posting him as much as they do. idk how nobody finds this weird.”

Others defended their choice to keep their son’s face private. “Being mad that parents don’t wanna show you their kids is wild.. Why do people feel so entitled,” one person wrote.

The Color Purple actress shared several pictures of her baby last month with his face hidden, as the family of three went on a beach vacation to celebrate Bailey’s 24th birthday. And at the end of March, DDG shared another video of his son (with his face blurred out), where Halo repeats “dada” after his dad.

“I GOT THE WORLDS SMARTEST BABY 😭❤️❤️,” he captioned the video on TikTok.

Can we please just appreciate how cute and adorable this baby is without demanding his parents show his face? Internet trolls are so entitled about other people’s kids, and it’s honestly no surprise people want to protect their little ones. If you can’t say anything nice, just don’t get on the internet at all.
