Hal Sparks Lands In ‘Bachelor Lions’; Sasha Alexander Joins The ‘Ride’

Hal Sparks has joined Mitchel Muso, James Maslow and recently announced Renee Olstead in indie comedy Bachelor Lions from River Rock Films. Written and directed by Paul Bunch, the pic follows two young men who, like bachelor lions in the wild, live in the shadows just barely surviving. They buddy up to become Bachelor Lions who protect each other and make sure to get a share of the feed. Sparks plays Lance Barber, a typical fast-talking Hollywood agent. The pic has a planned theatrical release in 2017 as well as an episodic television show to come later. Jack Kavanaugh and R. Scott Reid are producing with Ivan Cohen and John Ryan Jr serving as exec producers. Sparks, known for his roles in Showtime’s Queer As Folk, Disney XD’s Lab Rats, and former host of Talk Soup, is repped by ICM and LINK Entertainment.

Sasha Alexander has signed onto the indie film Ride opposite Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Shane Graham. Alex Ranarivelo directed the film, which is based on the true story of BMX champion John Buultjens. She will play Maryanne Buultjens, the foster mother of a teenager, raised by white supremacists, who is taken into the care of bi-racial couple after serving time in a juvenile detention center. This will be the second film for Alexander since ending her seven season starring role on TNT’s Rizzoli And Isles. She recently wrapped the film Bernard And Huey and recurred on Showtime’s Shameless. She is repped by UTA and Circle of Confusion.
