The post We had a good thing: Jonathan Banks says his Breaking Bad character is back for El Camino appeared first on Consequence of Sound.
He just wanted you to shut up and let him die in peace, but it looks like Mike Ehrmantraut is back. Speaking to ET Canada on the purple carpet of the Emmys Sunday night, Jonathan Banks confirmed that his Breaking Bad character will be returning in Netflix’s sequel film El Camino.
Asked about rumors that Gustavo Fring’s fixer would appear in the movie, Ehrmantraut replied with a slow and careful, “Yes.” He continued, “They’ll hit me in the head for saying this, but yes. Why not? I mean, none of those guys hit very hard anyway.”

Vince Gilligan, Netflix, AMC, and anyone else with a hand in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie are likely indeed none too thrilled Banks came clean. Six-year-old spoiler warning, but his character, as beloved as he was terrifying, met a pretty final and emotional end during the final season of the hit series. Logic dictates that his appearance in the film will come via flashbacks, the same method expected to bring back characters played by Bryan Cranston (Walter White), Krysten Ritter (Jane), and Kevin Rankin (Kenny).
We’ll find out for sure when El Camino hits Netflix and select limited theaters on October 11th. Watch the latest teaser, which focuses on Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman, below.
