The 32-year-old Louisiana native uploaded videos to TikTok on Wednesday, May 15, where she shared her behind bars beauty hacks while getting ready.

“My history with makeup is not a very long one,” Blanchard said. “So, before I went to prison, I was not allowed to wear makeup.”

The famed Munchausen by proxy victim served eight years in prison for her role in her mother's June 2015 murder. She was released from Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri in December 2023.

“When I was in county jail, I knew that I had court appearances coming up, so I wanted to look presentable,” Blanchard, who was 23 at the time of her arrest, said via TikTok. “And so I had to actually make my own makeup.”

Next, she explained how she had to become resourceful if she expected to look decent during her highly publicized case.

“How I did that is, I had took toothpaste and broke a pen apart — like an ink pen — and mixed it together to make mascara and I would apply it with a toothbrush,” Blanchard said with a smile as she applied foundation to her face.

Though crafty, it's unlikely that Blanchard would recommend the makeshift product to anyone.

“Now as you could imagine, oh my God. The minty freshness that was on my eyeballs was burning my eyes, but I wanted to look decent and presentable, so I just did it,” she said.

Blanchard added that she would also use coffee grounds as eyeshadow thanks to its powder-like texture.

As for how she maintained her hair, in a second TikTok titled “GRWM part 2 woman empowerment 💗,” she was more than willing to explain.

“A little-known fact about me is that when I get super stressed out, I take it out on my hair," she said. "So, they don’t have scissors in prison, so I would take toenail clippers and I’d go in the shower, and the more stressed out I’d be, I would take the toenail clippers and start clipping off more and more of my hair."

Blanchard also revealed why she underwent cosmetic surgery for a rhinoplasty in April.

While showing before and after pictures, she stated that her prior “predominant” bump was due to “genetics” that came from her father’s side of the family.

She admitted that the physical feature weighed heavily on her.

“[I] didn’t feel like it was a feminine nose. God knows I got teased about it,” Blanchard said of her “insecurity.”

However, now she says she feels confident in her skin.

“So I’ve been asked this before, if I wanted to get more plastic surgery done, and I honestly don’t,” Blanchard said. “I am very happy with everything else that’s on my body."

She added, “I would not change anything about myself — anything else about myself other than the nose job that I had, and I’m done.”
