When his announcement reached the public, fans were happy for the actress, as she has shown no signs of slowing down to achieve her goals. While congratulations were still in order for the 47-year-old, something unfortunate happened, and the tone of fans changed immediately.
Netflix shared a new trailer of the series, to inform fans about what to expect, but things went downhill from there.
According to reports, fans and healthcare specialists were displeased by the trailer and concluded that they were not looking forward to the new series. Jennifer Gunter, who has always criticized Paltrow's show in the past, also fueled the rants on social media from angry fans. She insisted that Medical ideas should be well tested before they are offered to the public as a solution.
According to the new trailer released by Netflix, "The Goop Lab" will premiere on January 24, 2020.
Also, the new trailer revealed tons of things that will happen in the six-episode series. Some of them include; sexual health, psychic mediums, energy healing and psychedelics. According to the fans, all these explorations are dangerous and can only be performed by professionals.
The chief content officer for the series, Elise Loehnen explained that the series helps to reveal and explore unusual ideas that some people may be too scared to talk about. She also went on to say that there was nothing harmful about that.
Talking about what fans had to say on the "Morning Show," Paltrow revealed a disclaimer that they are only having conversations on the series, and she had no idea why it's getting everyone worked up.
This is not the first time "Goop" has come under criticism by healthcare professionals, because of the practices it has shown support for. One time, the show came under heat when it revealed that women can make use of quartz and jade eggs to make their vaginas healthy.
Unfortunately, the series paid $145,00 as a penalty fee for the false information, as it was said to be unsubstantiated. One of the things in the new trailer that caught the attention of many fans and cased a ruckus on social media, was Gwyneth Paltrow posing in an image of a vagina. Fans concluded that everything about the series spelled 'harmful' especially the use of lab int he show's name.
One fan mentioned that the word lab, made it sound like scientific processes that Goop is not known for.
