Gwyneth Paltrow says she fell in love with her husband because he reminded her of her dad

Gwyneth Paltrow says she fell in love with her husband Brad Falchuk because he reminded her of her dad.

In a new People interview, the 51-year-old actor opened up about her relationship with Falchuk and even revealed the similarities he shared with her late father, Bruce Paltrow.

Paltrow's father died in 2002 from pneumonia and other complications of oral cancer.

"He has things that were reminiscent of my dad," Paltrow told People. "It's like blue-eyed, Jewish, TV writer, with a heart of gold and a great sense of humor."

"I finally chose my dad," the Goop founder added.

Paltrow and Falchuk, who is a co-creator of popular shows such as "American Horror Story" and "Glee," tied the knot in 2018. The couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in September, per People.

Reflecting on their relationship, Falchuk also told People in the same interview that Paltrow is "the perfect wife."

"If she loves you, she is your champion. You doing well feels as good to her as her doing well," Falchuk said. "She literally screams when she hears good news from someone."

And the support they have for each other is mutual: Paltrow says that her husband is a big fan of Goop.

"He loves the shampoo," Paltrow told People. "This summer he tried it for the first time, and he's like, 'This shampoo is incredible. Look how soft and shiny my hair is.' I was like, 'I cannot believe I did not video that.'"

Paltrow was previously married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin for over a decade until they finalized their divorce in 2016. They have two children together: Apple, 19, and Moses, 17.

Falchuk also has two kids, Isabella, 19, and Brody, 17, from his previous marriage, per People.
