Gwyneth Paltrow Says She and Dakota Johnson Are ‘Very Good Friends’: ‘I Love Her So Much’

The Goop founder held an Instagram Story Q&A with her followers and answered questions about her personal and professional life

Gwyneth Paltrow is sharing her love for Dakota Johnson with her fans.

On Thursday, the Goop founder, 51, conducted a Q&A for her followers on her Instagram Story while preparing for a talk show appearance. And as she had her makeup applied, she revealed that she loves ex-husband Chris Martin’s girlfriend.

Among questions about her hair, friendships, motherhood and gut health, one follower posed the query: “What is your relationship like with Dakota Johnson?”

A beaming Paltrow then informed viewers, “We’re actually very good friends she said, adding, “I love her so much.”

“She’s an adorable, wonderful person,” concluded the actress.

Johnson began dating Martin, 46, in 2017, after the Coldplay singer and Paltrow — who "consciously uncoupled" in 2014 — finalized their divorce in 2016. The Goop founder went on to marry Brad Falchuk in 2018 and the couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary last month.

Paltrow has previously opened up about her relationship with her ex-husband and his new partner and in a 2020 interview with Harper's Bazaar shared her ongoing "commitment" to the dynamic she has with Martin.

"It's a lifelong commitment to constantly reinvent your relationship with your ex, which you do presumably because you have children together. I don't see a reason to do it if you don't have children together. Some people do," Paltrow said.

“But I think we put all the hard work in at the beginning. I would say very rarely is it difficult now. We’ve learned how to communicate with each other. We love each other. We laugh. We have the best of each other. It’s really nice. It makes you feel like you don’t have to lose," she told the outlet.

Going on to speak about her relationship with Johnson, 34, Paltrow heaped praises on the actress, while acknowledging that the relationship is "unconventional."

"I love her. I can see how it would seem weird because it's sort of unconventional. But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her," Paltrow said.

Paltrow and Martin share two children, Apple, 19, and Moses, 17 and in 2021, the actress joined Jill Martin for an interview on Shop TODAY where she spoke again about her positive relationship with the Coldplay frontman.

"And I'm so grateful to him for giving me these kids," she said. "It worked out well ... You know, it really did, I have to say." Paltrow explained, "He's like my brother. You know, he's my family. I love him."

As well as opening up about the positive relationships she has within her blended family during her Thursday Q&A session, Paltrow also shared her thoughts on moving overseas for a relationship.

When one follower asked: “Would you move to another country because of your husband?” Paltrow responded, “I did that already once," and added, referring to when she lived in England during her marriage to Martin. “But, yes, moving for love, I think is good," she added.

As well as questions about Paltrow’s love life and family, other followers took the opportunity to ask the actress about her own health and beauty habits.

One follower asked, “Did you ever try botox?”

“God yes. Both successfully and unsuccessfully I’m afraid," Paltrow responded in a text note.

While Paltrow didn’t detail her experiences with Botox, she did admit that she is "diligent with my skincare" and shared her "current routine" on her Instagram Story.

The details came in response to a follower who asked how her skin looks so good — and include a four-step routine of Goop products and an additional once-a-week overnight Goop eye treatment.
