Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Her Favorite of Ex Chris Martin's Coldplay Songs — and Sings It!

The actress and Goop founder chose a hidden track from an early Coldplay album as her favorite

Gwyneth Paltrow is a Coldplay fan for life!

During a "73 Questions" interview with Vogue amid her lifestyle brand Goop’s 15th anniversary, the Oscar winner was asked which song by the band — which is fronted by her ex-husband Chris Martin — is her favorite.

" 'Life Is for Living,' " said Paltrow, 51, naming the hidden track on Coldplay's certified 9× Platinum album Parachutes (2000), which also contained the hit song "Yellow."

" 'But life is for living, we all know / And I ain't gonna [live] it alone,' " she sang on the interviewer's request, admitting she doesn't remember the exact lyrics.

While "Life Is for Living" is her favorite, back in 2016, Paltrow revealed in a SiriusXM interview that she found comfort in the Coldplay song “Everything’s Not Lost” before ever meeting Martin, 46.

“He wrote this song before I met him, and I think another reason it’s sad for me is my father had just died when this album came out, and we used to listen to it kind of on repeat,” the actress said on My Favorite Song with John Benjamin Hickey. “This album was kind of getting my brother and I through that death.”

Martin and Paltrow tied the knot in December 2003 and finalized their divorce in April 2015, a little over a year after the infamous Goop blog post that announced their separation.

Paltrow and Martin have remained close over the years as they have moved on with respective partners Brad Falchuk and Dakota Johnson.

Martin — who revealed in a December 2021 interview BBC Radio 2 that Coldplay intended to wrap up making new music by 2025 — shares two children with Paltrow: daughter Apple, 19, and son Moses, 17.

While participating in her recent Vogue "73 Questions" interview, Paltrow also shared some tidbits about motherhood with fans.

When asked what the biggest surprise about being a mom is, the Contagion actress replied, "How much love there is in this thing," gesturing to her heart.

Later, she was asked about what traits her kids get from her, Paltrow answered "I think Moses got his deliberation from me, and Apple, her sense of humor."
