Gwen Stefani's favorite part of working on 'The Voice' isn't hanging with boyfriend Blake Shelton
For Gwen Stefani, there were a lot of great things about being on The Voice: mentoring aspiring artists, hanging out with her boyfriend Blake Shelton, and more. But her favorite part? Well, the answer’s kind of surprising.
“I’ve always loved getting ready,” she tells Yahoo Beauty. “That’s one of the my favorite parts about when I was on The Voice was being able to have a different look every day.” She adds, “And it’s not pressure, it’s fun. It’s like a treat. You can ask my hair and make up team, I’m probably the only one they work with that really loves being in the chair. I love it!”
Beauty is such a part of Stefani’s world that if she wasn’t “blessed enough to do music,” she says that she would have definitely been a makeup artist or hairdresser. “I used to run home from school and do makeup with my girlfriends and do their hair,” she explains.
Though she’s rocked her share of pink and ombre locks, one thing that the songstress has been synonymous with is her platinum blonde ‘do. But how does the natural brunette continuously bleach her hair and still keep it healthy? “When it comes to products generally I’m quite simple,” she admits. “I shampoo, I condition, don’t dry it when I don’t need to dry it, take days off.”
But even Stefani doesn’t really know the actual trick. “I think I’m just so careful and precious with it but I really don’t know,” she says with a laugh. “I guess I’m just lucky. I’m Italian. Maybe that’s it?”
