Gwen Stefani Talks ‘The Voice,’ Competing Against Boyfriend Blake Shelton

Pop superstar Gwen Stefani will be back on The Voice for Season 12, where she’ll be competing against her sweetie pie, country music superhunk Blake Shelton. This will be the first time since they’ve been together that Stefani and Shelton will be competing coaches, so this new dynamic will be something for fans to keep an eye on. Stefani stopped by Today and filled us in on what that dynamic has been so far.

“Sometimes it is a little like, we’re driving home, and I’m like, ‘Do you think I should put them together? And then I’m like, ‘Wait a minute. I’m not gonna talk to you about this. I don’t know if you are the enemy or you…’ It’s confusing,” Stefani said.

Despite the fact that they’re competing against each other, Stefani admitted there’s some cooperation between her and Shelton.

Stefani said, “I think we actually help each other, you know what I mean? I’ve learned a lot about country music through … just in the last year through him. It is interesting.”
