Gwen Stefani's life changed when she welcomed her third son.

In an interview with NYLON Print, the "Hollaback Girl" singer, 54, shared that when she gave birth to son Apollo, now 10, the trajectory of her life forever shifted. "I went from a difficult time in my life to giving birth to Apollo," she tells the outlet.

"Getting pregnant with him was really the start of [a series] of miracles. It was almost like a restart of my life — the second chapter."

Stefani shares sons Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.

Elsewhere in the interview, Stefani gave a candid look at how she balanced her life as a mom during her No Doubt days, revealing that she felt stuck between being a good mother and a bandmate.

If she went to write new songs with the band, she says, "I would be leaving my family. And if I didn't come home with a song, I'd be like, 'Oh my God, I'm such a loser — I didn't have dinner with my family, and I didn't write a song. I wasted an entire day of my life trying to be in No Doubt again."

She continues, adding that every choice she made felt like a sacrifice.

"I look at it now and I think, 'God, what was I doing trying to please everybody?' Because really, I should have just been with my family. But we did it, and there are some good songs," she tells the outlet, trailing off. "Don't remind me. I don't want to talk about it."

In November, Stefani's country singer husband Blake Shelton, 47, spoke with TODAY about his new restaurant's opening in Las Vegas and commented on how he chooses to parent his wife's three sons.

"I've had step-parents," Shelton said. "I think it's, in some ways, harder, more difficult. I try to be careful about when to step back and be smart about when to step back and just talk, but no matter what, I'm always there if I'm needed."
