Blake and Gwen Forever

Musicians Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been an item since 2015. But why haven't they made it official?

The two were first linked soon after Stefani joined "The Voice" in 2014. They didn't try to hide their relationship too much when it first started out; fans could sense it when the two interacted on social media, though Shelton was still married to Miranda Lambert at the time.

Stefani was also unavailable then -- she was still married to Gavin Rossdale and had been for about 13 years.

Their courtship seems rather quick: Blake and Lambert announced in July 2015 that they were getting a divorce, while only a month later, Stefani and Rossdale said they were throwing in the towel and filed for divorce in August 2015.

And in November 2015, Shelton and Stefani finally said they were dating, though it seems people knew about it long before then.

Let's Get Going Already

So, again, they're not married, even years after they both of them announced their divorce from their previous relationships. Stefani filed for divorce from Rossdale in 2015 - that was several years ago. What is taking so long?

One reason for the delay in nuptials may come down to religious constraints. Stefani is Roman Catholic, so until her divorce from Gavin Rossdale is finalized, she's not walking down that aisle.

But that doesn't mean they don't want to -- when Stefani spoke with Ellen DeGeneres recently, she said "I do, I think about it all the time."

And Shelton is right there with her, as a source told People:

“Blake was very serious about Gwen right from the start, and early on he thought about proposing."

At least they're collaborating: People says they just came out with a new song called "Nobody But You."

The song is on Shelton's newest album., "Fully Loaded: God's Country."

At Least They Have a Good Thing Going Now

The thing is, the two have been going strong for so long that you could ask yourself, why bother?

Their other marriages ended in disaster, so maybe they should just it be.

But their impending nuclear family is very nearly complete: It's being reported that Shelton has become like a father to Stefani's kids: Kingston, 13, Zuma, 11 and Apollo, 5.

According to a friend, “They’re all very like-minded and comfortable with each other. Gwen brings this sparkle to the country world. Her love for Blake is clear, and she’s been embraced by everyone.”

So regardless, Stefani and Shelton are both still very much in love. A source says “It’s definitely headed toward marriage."

Will they be "headed toward marriage" some time in the next decade?
