Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton Are Cuddly Competitors in New Promo for 'The Voice'

All’s fair in love and war, especially if you’re looking for the next singing superstar. And in the case of Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s sparring in the new The Voice Season 17 promo, it’s both.

NBC just released a new promo for Season 17 of the hit show, and we’re seeing that America’s favorite couple might be playing dirty. Stefani, rocking a gold metallic dress, coyly asks Shelton if he wants to “fight,” and is seen blocking him from snagging a contestant. In fact, the entire minute-long promo is all about Stefani proving that her time away from the show hasn’t made her complacent. She struts, jumps and shows off a sweet Voice jacket specially designed for this season.

Shelton, meanwhile, is more or less the butt of Stefani’s jokes. He asks Stefani: “Why are you doing this to me? I thought you loved me?” He does have his own designer clothes to compete with Stefani: a unique pair of camo-print pants with “Team Blake” emblazoned on the legs.

Regardless of the squabbles, there’s no doubt this season looks to be fairly romantic. The couple gets a chance to share a few sweet moments, on par with their utterly darling Instagram videos. Though if Shelton isn’t careful on the show, fellow judge Kelly Clarkson warns he may get “no cuddles” from Stefani.

Stefani’s return comes hot on the heels of the previous host Adam Levine’s expensive departure from the series. Shelton and Stefani have been going strong for four years, and even recently made the decision to take the leap…into living together. Wedding bells aren’t ringing yet, but it’s only a matter of time, right? Unless Blake wins this season of The Voice and then, as he says, “I’m probably going to pay for this later.”
