Even the strongest couples in Hollywood can fall victim to split rumors. Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are the latest pair to deal with this scrutiny. The two have been married for nearly three years, and have been together for even longer. This time around, however, they decided to quell any split or divorce rumors by telling their fans exactly where they stand and put it all in a song.

Stefani and Shelton collaborated on a new song called “Purple Irises,” and the lyrics spell out just how deep their love still is after all of these years. “But if someone comes along and tries to / Love you like I do / Don’t know what I’d do / Don’t want to lose you,” Stefani and Shelton sing. As the song goes on, Shelton chimes in: “I got you / And you got me.” The chorus to the song also features the lyrics, “No, I never knew a love like this. Now we’re picking / Purple irises.”

Rumors started swirling around New Year’s Eve that something may be going wrong in Stefani and Shelton’s marriage. The couple didn’t spend NYE together, and then fans became even more fixated when Stefani was reportedly deleting videos and photos of Shelton from her Instagram account. Clearly, though, these two are putting any and all rumors to rest with this latest collaboration.

This isn’t the first time Shelton and Stefani each brought their respective musical talents together. The couple also collaborated on songs like “Nobody But You” in 2019 and “Happy Anywhere” in 2021. The duo even has a holiday tune together, “You Make It Feel Like Christmas,” which was released in 2017.

Shelton and Stefani got together sometime in 2015 after appearing together on The Voice. Both went through their own respective divorces — Stefani ended her marriage to Gavin Rossdale in 2015, Shelton’s marriage to Miranda Lambert ended the same year. The couple got engaged in October 2020 after roughly five years together, and married in July 2021. After almost a decade, we’re glad to see these two still going strong and making beautiful music together.
