For Guy Fieri’s son, food is where the heart is!

On Saturday, the celebrity chef shared that his youngest son, Ryder, 18, asked his girlfriend Sophie to prom while they were out to dinner.

In an Instagram Story post, Guy, 56, wrote that Ryder “is such the romantic” for asking Sophie to the event with a secret message hidden within her menu.

While on a dinner date at the Guerneville, California, spot Boon Eat + Drink, the high school senior got a little help from the restaurant’s owner (and Guy's Grocery Games champ!) chef Crista Luedtke.

Leudtke — who was “so glad to help,” per her own Instagram Story — slipped a special message in the middle of the entrées, disguised to fit in with the dishes.

“Dear SOPHIE,” the hidden message began, "it would be an honor if you would go with me to prom. I love you!”

And, based on the couple’s smiles in the post Guy shared, Sophie said yes.

Last month, Guy revealed a special father-son moment he and Ryder shared — and opened up about wanting both Ryder and his older brother, Hunter, 27, to embrace their sensitive side.

Ryder recently "got put to the test" after his basketball team “lost their final game by one point on a very controversial call," Guy told PEOPLE, adding, "I've never seen Ryder that upset."

But the emotional and challenging moment for the athlete turned into a great father-son moment, the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives host said.

"The great thing was, I said, 'The fact that you are willing to let your emotions out and be willing to feel this and not just bury it or blame other people… I said, 'This is one of the biggest rights of manhood that I'm seeing out of you,’ “ the chef recalled.

And not only did Ryder let his emotions out, he shared them with his dad as the pair spent “a couple hours” reflecting.

“It was really beautiful,” Guy said of the experience. “It was really the neatest thing.”

Although he’s a bit old for a prom-posal, Guy’s eldest son is also a strong believer that food and romance go hand-in-hand.

Speaking with PEOPLE at the Celebrity Chef Pickleball Tournament in Miami last month, Hunter revealed that the menu at his upcoming wedding to fiancée Tara Bernstein is top priority.

"I mean, food is definitely like, one of the most important things," Hunter told PEOPLE.

Hunter also said that when the couple announced that they got engaged on Thanksgiving Day last year, so many people reached out to them about being invited to the wedding and cooking for it that he considered turning the nuptials into a "food and wine festival."

Bernstein, a professional pickleball player, added that her and Ryder’s wedding guests will be treated to "food and good drinks and rosé" all night.
