Comedian and cable news host Greg Gutfeld has inked a new deal with Fox News.

The network announced the new deal Thursday, boasting the host’s ratings success since the launch of his eponymous weeknight program.

“Greg is a true original whose trademark political and cultural commentary, humor and gifted writing has deeply connected and grown with our audience for more than 17 years,” Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in a statement.

Gutfeld, in a statement of his own, thanked the network for giving him what he called “the freedom to be unabashedly myself and, in turn, deliver a distinct experience for our audience.”

The longtime pundit and comedian has been a staple on Fox’s airwaves for years, first hosting a weekend comedy and current events show dubbed “Redeye” before launching his new weeknight program in February 2021.

Since launch, Gutfeld’s nightly show has increased in audience by 47 percent in total viewership, the network said, noting the host regularly out-rates other late night shows on broadcast channels, pulling an average of 2.2 million viewers per night.

Gutfeld is also a co-host of popular table talk program “The Five,” which routinely ranks as the top-watched cable news program each month.

Like several of his Fox co-hosts, Gutfeld has sparked some scorn and criticism from Democrats and media observers for his jokes and commentary on a variety of issues.
