As of January 2024, The Gulf hasn’t been greenlit for the third season. While there are reports that the series has been canceled after season 2, no official statement on the subject can be found. Because of this, it’s safe to speculate that season 3 can still happen.
The renewal of any show for a new season considerably depends upon the performance of the previous season. The Gulf was greenlit for season 2 because the inaugural season was a success. The Gulf Season 3 could come out on Three in New Zealand and ZDF in Germany.
This is because the previous seasons came out on the same platforms. Their broadcasting rights were acquired by Netflix and Amazon Prime Video in the US as well as Sundance Now. The series also became available on Alibi in the UK.
