Guests Reportedly Evacuated from Disney World’s Polynesian Village Resort, Emergency Vehicles Seen on Site
According to unofficial Disney news site Walt Disney World Today, ambulances and firetrucks could be seen on the property from the nearby Monorail

The resort's official website states that the property is currently undergoing construction
Guests staying at Disney World’s Polynesian Village Resort reportedly had to evacuate the property on Tuesday morning.
The resort was briefly closed and guests were not allowed off at the Walt Disney World Monorail’s Polynesian stop, according to the unofficial Disney news blog Walt Disney World News Today. Emergency vehicles such as a fire trucks and ambulances were also spotted in the parking lot from the Monorail.
According to the outlet, guests said they were immediately escorted out of the building when the fire alarm started going off.

Emergency vehicles parked outside of the Polynesian Village Resort.The Reedy Creek Fire Department later confirmed that the evacuation was caused by an employee mixing two chemicals that created a reaction, FOX 35 News reports. There were no injuries and firefighters cleared the building to be reopened to guests.

Rendering of the new Polynesian Village Resort following renovations in 2021.The resort’s official website has a notice posted that says the property is undergoing construction. They are currently building a new Disney Vacation Club tower at the site.
“As we prepare for the proposed expansion at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you will see and hear construction at certain times of day. To minimize disruptions during your stay, activities that may create noise will not start earlier than 9:00 AM,” the website states.

Disney’s Polynesian VIllage Resort is one of Disney World's original hotels. It first opened in 1971 along with the nearby Magic Kingdom. After shutting down in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the park announced that the Polynesian would not be immediately reopening due to major renovations. Disney World officially announced the upcoming remodel in September 2020.

In July 2021, the highly anticipated makeover was unveiled with a brand new Moana theme. Each room in the resort was designed with the hit 2016 film in mind, including photos of the Disney princess and other characters that adorn the walls.
Fans of the movie may also recognize the wallpaper that features similar designs to the animated tattoos of Dwayne Johnson's character Maui.

The hotel’s new theming was a natural fit as Moana is a Polynesian princess who lives on the fictional island of Motunui in the South Pacific.
