Can you guess what this home once was? Prepare to be ‘dazzled’ by Oklahoma property

From the outside, this residence for sale in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, looks like your typical dome home — just way larger with a few visual differences.

Inside, however?

That’s a completely different story.

“Visionaries wanted... for this remarkable building in a high visibility location off the Cherokee Turnpike,” the listing on Zillow.com says. “Built specifically as a church, so great attention was given to acoustics and stage, this building was well designed and well maintained. Building has served as a venue for gospel music concerts, and sound system is still in place.”

That’s right. It comes with 7,860 square feet of space, with a whole lot left to the imagination — for just $425,000.

And it seems that the residence has everything you’d already need to live, including:

  • Full kitchen

  • Kitchenette

  • Serving area

  • Office

  • Bathrooms

  • Parking

  • Guttered

“This one of a kind property could be a dazzling event venue, a church with capacity for a large congregation and community events, or even converted into luxury apartments or condominiums,” the listing says.

Or, it could be your dream home.

The venue was featured on Friday Night Zillow, a Twitter segment that highlights interesting houses for sale created and run by Bloomberg reporter Steven Dennis.

“WANNA BUY A CONCERT VENUE? $425K. Oklahoma. ‘Ample parking.’ Alternatively I guess could be a televangelist startup location. Seats 1,000,” Dennis tweeted out.

Some folks had some thoughts about the home while others brought the jokes.

The building reminds me of the long defunct music fair chain of theater in the round that was popular in the 1950’s through the 1970’s. Originally shows were held in a tent,” one person said.

Definitely needs work,” another observed.

“The Righteous Gemstones fall on hard times and have to move there. Season 4 coming soon,” someone joked about the HBO comedy series.
