Gucci Mane has shared one of his biggest regrets from his past: his infamous ice-cream face tattoo.

During a recent interview with The Morning Hustle, Guwop revealed that he received the “sporadic” 2011 face tat at a time when he wasn’t in a “healthy place.” He also addressed claims that he started the face ink trend.

“I wouldn’t take credit for starting the trend, but I think I definitely made people think it was something cool to do,” he shared. “I was going through something when I did it. If I could do it over again, I probably wouldn’t have [done] it. People don’t know the backstory to that. I wasn’t in a healthy place at the time. That was just a sporadic thing I did.”

Gucci Mane recently dropped his 16th studio album, Breath of Fresh Air, to which he expressed to Apple Music 1 that he wants his new music to show that there’s “more to rap about than my opps and all that.”

“Ever since, I guess November of when Dolph passed away and my artist Scarr passing away and Takeoff passing away and Pooh locked up and Foo locked up, that’s why I kind of named my album A Breath of Fresh Air,” he explained to host Zane Lowe.

“I’m just not in the mood to hear a whole bunch of drilling and killing and this and that and not saying that I haven’t did that before, but just right now, just let me just kind of lead by example and show people that it is more to rap about than my opps and all that.”

Taking a different route with his music, he added, “You can rap about going out to eat with your girl or your wife. And that’s what all the songs are about. I’m not saying all about the same thing, but that’s what I’m kind of trying to get off.”

In another interview with Streetz Atlanta, the father of two elaborated more on being a family man.

“I wanted to put out an album to be a time capsule of where I’m at in my life right now, so I can look back at it 10 years from now,” he said. “I was like, ‘This gon’ be the discography of Gucci in 2023, with my little girl and my boy.’ So now when I look back 10 years from now, I say, ‘Okay, this where I was at.’”

He added, “That’s where [the title] Breath of Fresh Air [comes from]. Like, take your time, enjoy your family and just express that instead of talking about — not even the same stuff I talk about — but the same stuff I hear people talk about.”

“Show people you can talk about other things, you know what I’m saying? It’s cool to have a family. It’s cool to have dinner at home.”

Gucci recently showed how much of a changed man he is, when he publicly settled an ongoing feud with rapper T.I.

The two rap stars shocked fans earlier this month when they took the stage together in Atlanta. Wop and Tip conversed for a bit, before shaking hands in front of the roaring audience. T.I. then proceeded to perform some of his most memorable hits.
