Zoey Johnson, the eldest daughter of the family, is the protagonist in the first four seasons. She is replaced as the main character in Season 5 by her brother Andre Junior. Season 6 was split into two parts, with part 1, comprising nine episodes, originally airing between June 28, 2023, and August 23, 2023. The sixth season of Grown-ish is also slated to be its final one. It was reported in November 2023 after the end of the SAG-AFTRA Strike that the show would return to production in early-to-mid December 2023. If that indeed happened, filming should be done by February. If post-production lasts another few months, Grown-ish Season 6 Part 2 can come out in the summer of 2024, perhaps even around the same time Part 1 was released in 2023.
