ROB GRONKOWSKI: I could just tell he's getting all this excitement. And then I'm like, oh, my mom lives down there, too, like an hour away. You know, it would be great to have a new opportunity--

KYLIE MAR: On "The Late Late Show With James Corden" Thursday night, superstar tight end Rob Gronkowski dramatically reenacted the phone call in which his former New England Patriots teammate, Tom Brady, convinced Gronk to join him on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next fall.

ROB GRONKOWSKI: I called him. I was like, whoo. I was like, whoo. Tampa Bay, baby. I was like, how is the weather down there? He's like, oh, it's great. It's fantastic. And then I was like-- I was like, oh, man. Like, I-- you know, Tom, I've been-- you know, I've been thinking about football a little bit. I'm just teasing with him.

KYLIE MAR: Brady joined the Bucs in March, and it took just a little over a month for him to convince Gronk to come out of retirement. And if Gronk is to be believed, Brady really wanted Gronk in Tampa.

ROB GRONKOWSKI: And all the sudden, he just screams on the phone, Rob, I just want you to come back and play with me! And I was like, oh, all right. All right. I'll come back, then, pal. No problem. He was crying. Like, oh, my God. Please come back. I was like, wow, you just missed me that much. So I had to come back.
