The Past Lives star is married to Russ Armstrong, a fellow actor who she wed in September 2014.

A Los Angeles-based actress and writer, Lee — who's nominated for the best female actor Golden Globe at this year's ceremony on Jan. 7 — shares two young children with Armstrong, sons Apollo and Raphael.

The couple, who both have successful careers in entertainment, is now based in Los Angeles. Prior to playing quirky characters on TV series like Girls and The Morning Show, Lee lived in New York City, where she once worked as a waitress "serving pork buns" to people she now works alongside of.

Armstrong is active on social media, unlike Lee. He often posts photos of their family happenings and updates on his Instagram page.

He's an actor

Armstrong is an actor in his own right and has credits in several acclaimed titles. Among them are Tina Fey's 30 Rock and Aziz Ansari’s Master of None, per his IMDb.

He's a comedy writer and producer

In addition to acting, Armstrong is a writer and producer whose work spans across late night TV and various talk shows. According to his IMDb, he's produced 13 episodes of The Daily Show and three episodes of Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, among others.

He and Lee met in college

Armstrong met Lee at Northwestern University, where the actress studied theater and participated in sketch comedy. In the past, he's posted hilarious throwbacks on his Instagram from when the two were in school.

Armstrong and Lee tied the knot on Sept. 7, 2014.

He shares two kids with Lee

Armstrong and Lee are the parents of two little ones, sons Apollo Joosung and Raphael Joobaek. The couple welcomed them in August 2016 and April 2019, respectively.

While Lee described the attention she's been receiving for her first major leading role at age 40 as "a total dream," she's aware of her life's reality as someone who doubles as an actress and a mom of two little kids.

“I am still a mother of two very young children,” Lee told PEOPLE in June 2023. “It's a sharp pivot from great reviews to, ‘Where is my breakfast?’ ”

Armstrong posted a sweet Instagram tribute to Lee on Mother's Day in 2023. "Raising kids with a partner is a gamble. When you start dating someone in your 20s you’re generally not considering whether they can whip up a rocket out of a cardboard boxes," he began in the caption.

"No parent is perfect, or very good, at first. I’m not. But I feel like I hit the lottery with you @thegreta (and while lotteries are problematic they do fund schools or something I think so double win?) I love you happy Mother’s Day."

He and Lee live in Los Angeles

Armstrong and Lee lived together in New York City prior to their move to California. After a decade, the couple moved from Brooklyn to an L.A. suburb in 2020 to live a quieter family life.

The move was an ironic one for Lee, who told W Magazine that she was "never coming back" to the town from which she now lives 30 minutes away. After Lee was cast on The Morning Show, she and Armstrong moved to their California hilltop property that was once a goat farm.

Now, in addition to their two kids, Vogue reported that the couple "raises three chickens who are given free range unless hawks or coyotes are circling nearby."
