Greg D’Alba to Exit as WME/IMG Head of Global Partnerships

Greg D’Alba, one of the first prominent execs recruited to WME/IMG following the 2014 merger of the agencies, is stepping down from his post as head of global sales and marketing at year’s end.

D’Alba told his staff on Thursday he’d decided the time was right to focus on personal and philanthropic pursuits. He will remain an advisor to WME/IMG through 2017.

“I believe WME/IMG is blazing a new trail for the industry and I could not be more excited to watch the trajectory of this amazing company moving forward,” D’Alba said.

Mark Shapiro, WME/IMG’s chief content officer, credited D’Alba with creating a “holistic, turn-key offering” for clients to access the combined company’s efforts in sales, marketing brand partnerships, sponsorships and naming rights sales.

D’Alba joined WME/IMG in June 2014 from Turner, where he was president of CNN News Networks and Turner’s digital ad sales and marketing.
