Director Greg Berlanti shares his reasoning behind choosing Nick Robinson, Katherine Langford and Alexandra Shipp to play the main characters in his new movie, “Love, Simon.”
David: If the nation voted again the outcome would be the same. Indeed the leave vote may increase because the scare stories that persuaded many undecided voters to vote remain has now been rubbished. We were told there would be 3 million unemployed within six months of a vote to leave; there would be world war three and the end of western civilisation. Now people can see that has not happened it would be harder for remain to win a second referendum. To hold a second referendum on UK membership to the EU would make a second referendum on Scottish independence inevitable. We could be in a situation where the UK is still leaving the EU and Scotland is leaving the UK. Even if the remain camp won a second referendum it would not solve the issue as it would be one-all – a draw. There would need to be a third referendum as a decider. People would be bitter and angry, the nation so divided it may never be the same country again.
