Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins book September 2024 show at Comerica Park on Saviors Tour
Green Day will be joined by the Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and the emerging pop-punk band Linda Lindas for an outdoor rock extravaganza at Comerica Park on Sept. 4.
The just-announced Saviors Tour, tied to Green Day’s forthcoming “Saviors” album, will kick off with a European leg in the spring before launching its North American run July 29 in Washington, D.C.
The general public on-sale for the North American shows, including Detroit, will start at 10 a.m. Nov. 10.
Citi cardholders will have access to tickets in a presale that will run from 10 a.m. Tuesday through 10 p.m. Nov. 9. Fans can also gain early access to tickets by registering for Green Day’s mailing list by Tuesday.
Next September’s show will be Green Day’s second at the Detroit Tigers’ house: Comerica Park hosted a headlining visit from the band in August 2021, one of the first major concerts in Detroit following the pandemic lockdown.
“Saviors,” the trio’s 14th studio album, is scheduled for release Jan. 19. The record’s first single, “The American Dream is Killing Me,” arrived last week.
2024 also marks the 30th anniversary of “Dookie,” the pop-punk band’s multiplatinum breakthrough album.
