Green beer, corned beef, music and freebies: Where to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Indy
St. Patrick’s Day is fast approaching. And with it, the chance to hoist green beer and Jameson, down corned beef, win prizes and listen to live Irish music at bars and restaurants across the Indianapolis area.
One spot is even giving away customized engraved Guinness glasses.
Because the holiday falls on a Sunday in 2024, much of the fun is spread out over the weekend.
Here’s a look at some St. Patrick’s Day specials and festivities in the Indianapolis area.

Caniac Club members get a free 22-ounce Leprechaun Lemonade (traditional hand-squeezed lemonade colored green) loaded onto their club card.
March 15: Party at Howl at the Moon

This St. Patrick's Day party has live music, discounted drinks, $5 green beer, $5 White Claw and giveaways.

March 16: Meet a leprechaun, hear bagpipes or hunt for gold

March 17: Try smoked corned beef sliders

The barbeque spot has several Irish-themed specials for St. Patrick's Day: the Royal County Down “Hot Dog” with a traditional Irish sausage; coddle, an Irish stew with smoked sausages and rashers bacon; and smoked corned beef sliders.
March 15-17: Mass, green beer and more

In addition, throughout March there are limited-time cocktails: the Irish Old Fashioned made with Jameson, house-made Guinness syrup, cocoa bitters and orange; and the Irish Goodbye made with house-made Guinness syrup, lemon juice and Fever-Tree Ginger Beer. The Reuben sandwich also is available throughout March.

The St. Patrick's Weekend Celebration at this Irish pub, Indy’s oldest, will have a large heated tent, lots of beers on tap from Zink Distributing, Ace cheeseburgers and live Irish music, including Derek Warfield & The Young Wolfe Tones, Brigid’s Cross, Laughing Jack, Déardaoin and J.P. & The Donegal Boys.
A Catholic Mass with Rev. Joe Moriarty will kick off Sunday.
