The Great North” has picked up an early Season 3 renewal at Fox. The news comes just after the animated comedy’s first season finale.

This is not the first time “The Great North” has gotten an early renewal. The show was renewed for Season 2 back in 2020 ahead of the first season premiere.

“The Great North” follows the Alaskan adventures of the Tobin family, as a single dad, Beef (Nick Offerman), does his best to keep his weird bunch of kids close – especially his only daughter, Judy (Jenny Slate), whose artistic dreams lead her away from the family fishing boat and into the glamorous world of the local mall. Rounding out the family are Judy’s older brother, Wolf, (Will Forte) and his fiancé, Honeybee (Dulcé Sloan), her middle brother, Ham (Paul Rust), and ten-year-old-going-on-fifty little brother, Moon (Aparna Nancherla). While their mother is not in the picture, Judy seeks guidance from her new boss, Alyson (Megan Mullaly), and her imaginary friend, Alanis Morrisette (guest-voicing as herself), who appears to her in the Northern Lights.

The series is created and written by executive producers Wendy Molyneux, Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin and Minty Lewis. Wendy and Lizzie serve as showrunners, and “Bob’s Burgers” creator Loren Bouchard also serves as executive producer. Animation is produced through Bento Box Entertainment. 20th Television produces.

Fox has already made a number of renewals for the 2021-2022 season. The renewed shows are: “Bob’s Burgers,” “Call Me Kat,” “Duncanville,” “Family Guy,” and “The Simpsons.” In addition, both “9-1-1” and “9-1-1: Lone Star” were renewed at the same time as “The Resident” and “The Great North.”
